With the launch of event performance reports, you can now easily track sales for upcoming events or deep dive into reservations and revenue performance for past events. Leverage past performance reports to make informed decisions about rates and inventory for upcoming events.
Track Event Sales with Performance Reports
Step 1: Log in to the SpotHero Control Panel and select a facility from the sidebar. | Step 2: Select the Upcoming Events, Past Event Reports, or Event Calendar page within the Rates & Inventory drop-down menu in the top bar. | Step 3: Depending on the event management page you are on, select an event from the list of upcoming events, past events, or the calendar to view its performance report. |
What's Included in the Performance Report
Keep in mind, data is subject to change for upcoming or ongoing events.
Total Gross Remit
Gross Remit is the total amount due to the operator from SpotHero, before adjustments for refunds and manual adjustments, and after taking into account offsets for the fees/commissions owed to SpotHero by the operator.
Please note, the data on this page is derived from booking information, with reservations filtered by their start date. Since payment details can still be modified after a reservation ends, remittance is based on the reservation's end date. Refer to the Accounting page for accurate payment reconciliation.
Reservations
Reservations are counted toward an event’s sales based on our assessment of a driver’s intent, which we determine from their search criteria when looking for parking. Typically, reservations are counted toward the event whose start and end times overlap the most with the reservation timeframe.
Please note that an event’s performance report only includes reservations that can be clearly attributed to that event (i.e., a driver specifically searched for the event or the reservation timeframe closely matches the event timeframe). In other words, the event report does not provide a full view of all reservations scheduled to begin and end at the facility on the same date as the event. For a full view of all reservations on a given day at a facility, refer to the All Reservations page within the Reservations drop-down menu in the top bar of the Control Panel.
Star Ratings
Star ratings are an important customer satisfaction metric and provide valuable insight into your customers' experiences. We have seen that facilities with higher star ratings on SpotHero are more likely to attract new customers as well as retain existing ones, ultimately generating more revenue.
Once a reservation ends, SpotHero customers are asked to rate their parking experience on a scale from 1 to 5, with one star representing a very unsatisfactory and poor quality experience, and five stars representing a very satisfactory and high quality experience. An event's star rating is the average of all ratings submitted by drivers who parked at your facility for that event.
Drivers have a 30-day window to submit their review, starting after the reservation ends. This means an event’s star rating may change within 30 days following the event’s end date and time.
Star rating data will not be available for reports on upcoming or ongoing events, as customers can only submit reviews after their reservations have ended.
Event Rates Sold
The Breakdown of Event Rates Sold bar graph provides a breakdown of the rates you set and sold to drivers who parked at your facility for the selected event. Drivers are always charged the highest available rate at a facility during their reservation timeframe. Even if an event’s inventory sells out or was initially set to 0, customers may still book at the price set for that event if it is higher than the overlapping event for which they are purchasing parking. In other words, the bar graph may reflect rates set for the selected event, rates set for another event at the same facility with overlapping dates and times, or transient rates.
Example 1: Your facility is selling two event rates with overlapping start and end dates/times.
Let's say a driver is looking to park from 6 pm to 10 pm for Event 2. The driver will be able to successfully reserve a spot at your facility, and this reservation will be counted towards Event 2's sales report. However, the driver will be charged $35 because the reservation overlaps with Event 1, and the rate for Event 1 is higher than the rate for Event 2.
Example 2: There are two possible events with overlapping start and end dates/times for which your facility could sell parking. You decide to sell parking for Event 1, and not to sell parking for Event 2 (meaning you set the inventory for this event to 0).
Let’s say a driver is looking to park from 2 pm - 7 pm for Event 1. The driver will be able to successfully reserve a spot at your facility, and this reservation will be counted towards Event 1's sales report. However, the driver will be charged $100 because the reservation overlaps with Event 2, and the rate for Event 2 is higher than the rate for Event 1.
This happens because our algorithm always applies the highest available rate during the reservation timeframe, regardless of the amount of inventory set. To avoid this, also set the rate for the event that you do not want to sell for (Event 2, in this case) to $0.
