Maximize revenue and stay on top of event operations using SpotHero Event Management tools. This guide will show you how to add, edit, and track event rates and inventory all from the SpotHero Control Panel.
Manage Event Rates and Inventory
Step 1: Log in to the SpotHero Control Panel. | Step 2: Select a facility from the sidebar. | Step 3: Select the Event Pricing Defaults page within the Rates & Inventory drop-down menu in the top bar. |
Event Pricing Default Definitions
Venue - Location where an event is scheduled
Event Type - Event category that applies to multiple events at a venue
Offsets - Number of hours before and after the scheduled event time during which the event rate will be in effect
Tiers - Number of pricing options set for varying amounts of inventory
Inventory - Total number of spots available for the event rate
Price - The rate, or range of rates, applied to a single event or event default
Create Event Rules
Use the Event Pricing Defaults tab to set up pricing rules for various event types at a select venue (ex. NBA games at Crypto.com Arena). Once the pricing default has been created, you’ll be able to view and edit individual events.
Step 1: Click Create Rule | Step 2: Select a Venue and an Event Type. | Step 3: Set the default pricing, inventory, and offsets that will apply to all applicable events. |
Create Pricing Tiers
Pricing Tiers allow you to maximize revenue by adjusting pricing based on the number of reservations sold. Set multiple pricing tiers in advance to automatically increase prices as more spaces are sold or add a discounted tier close to the start of the event to encourage last minute sales. Two important considerations: the total event inventory is the sum of the pricing tier inventory counts, and changing the price of an existing tier will only affect new reservations.
Example: You have 60 spots to sell for baseball games. You price the first 20 spots at $15, the next 20 spots at $20, and the last 20 spots at $30. As reservations sell, your revenue per space increases automatically, helping you fill your facility efficiently and maximize event revenue.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I edit multiple events at the same time?
A: Yes! Select the checkbox to the left of the listed events on the Upcoming Events tab to easily edit multiple events at once. You can also edit pricing defaults on the Event Pricing Defaults tab to update all applicable events.
Q: How do I edit an individual event without impacting others within the same event category?
A: Click edit next to the listed event on the Upcoming Events tab and make your desired edits. Keep in mind that editing the pricing, inventory, or offsets of an individual event (or multiple events) will override the pricing default that applies to that event. This means that the event will no longer be associated with the pricing default, so any updates to the pricing default will no longer affect the event’s pricing rule. However, you have the option on the edit form to revert a previously edited event pricing rule back to its applicable default.
Q: Do event price and inventory changes happen in real-time?
A: Yes! You can manage event pricing and inventory up to the event start time.
Q: What if I don’t want to sell parking for a specific event?
A: If you do not want to sell parking for an event, create a blackout or set the individual event inventory to zero. Keep in mind that both actions will also block new transient reservations from being booked during the event.
If two or more events have overlapping dates and times, and you only want to sell parking for one of them at your facility, make sure to set both the inventory and the price to zero for the event(s) you do not want to sell parking for. This is important because drivers are always charged the highest available rate at a facility during their reservation timeframe. Even if an event’s inventory is set to zero, customers may still book at the price set for that event if it is higher than the overlapping event for which they are purchasing parking. Therefore, to avoid pricing issues, always set both the individual rate and inventory to zero for events you do not want to sell parking for when dealing with overlapping events.
